I consider myself to be a pretty active person. I enjoy sports – water sports, snow sports, soccer, hiking, and whatever is going on when I actually have time to participate (which is rare these days). I usually teach Zumba classes once or twice a week (depending on if my husband is home to take care of Parker) and try to do a workout during my lunch break at work. “Try” is the key word here. Sometimes it happens and sometimes – like right now – it doesn’t. It doesn’t help that I am feeling pretty sick and crummy at the moment! I guess the best thing to do is to just keep swimming…if swimming is your thing. Things come up in life – sickness, meetings, obligations, whatever – but I have to remember that just because I don’t do my workout one day doesn’t mean I should give up on the whole week! I’m working on getting back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, and with insulin resistance that can be a challenge. I plan on blogging about my different workouts and healthy (or not so healthy) eating habits on here, so stay tuned! I try to post all of the calories and nutrition information on my Recipes page, even if that recipe isn’t exactly healthy. It helps remind me to attempt to keep my portions small! It also helps to be a Zumba instructor…I can’t do a pansy version because everyone is watching me!!
