I have tons of reasons for wanting to get into better shape – one being that I have a doctor’s appointment coming up and I don’t want to get fussed at! I am insulin resistant, so it is important for me to keep my weight in a healthy range (although this is a catch-22 since insulin resistance also makes it more difficult to perform this feat). And indeed it is a feat. I actually enjoy living a healthy lifestyle, but I also love cheesecake and blueberry scones…sorry…I just had to link to those recipes when you are obviously here reading about losing weight. I’m supposed to be motivating you, and instead I am filling your head with images of sugar plums and such. Anyway. That gets me to motivation. I just signed up for a Dietbet (which was introduced to me by fitness blogger DubyaWife (http://www.dubyawife.com/). So far that has been the most motivating way for me to lose weight. You can use whichever method you prefer – I track my calorie and fitness with SparkPeople.com – and you need to lose 4% of your body weight within 4 weeks. You put up money into a pot, and if you lose you forfeit your bet. If you win, you split the pot. I’m sure people find ways to cheat (although they do have a pretty good verification process), but so far I have won quite a bit of money. Well…until recently when I lost two bets in a row…but we’ll forget about that.
So I have a doc appt coming up in a few weeks, so now is as good a time as any to get back to it. I’m getting closer to my pre-pregnancy weight, so I just need to keep motivated! Join the game and play with me at https://www.dietbetter.com/games/46241 !!!
